Getting Started
What is NutriVue?

NutriVue is functional medicine made simple. We do at-home blood testing and turn your
results into health insights you can easily understand and use. Make practical
and pragmatic changes in your daily life for greater vitality, balance, and health. Your annual membership gets you three blood tests, detailed, custom reports that make sense, and specific food and supplement recommendations for what to do next. The whole point is catching health issues before they become bigger problems and giving you a clear plan to feel better. This will help the dietary restrictions question make more sense.

How do I get started?

Just go to our website and sign up. We'll send you a test kit with everything you need - the instructions are pretty straightforward. Collect your blood sample at home, send it back to our lab, and you'll get your personalized report in about 48 hours.

Who else is using NutriVue?

Right now we're working with INFINITI HR and UpShift HR to offer NutriVue as an employee benefit. So, if you work for a company that partners with one of these professional employer organizations (PEO), you might already have access through your job. It's a nice perk that makes the whole thing more affordable for employees.

How long does it take to get my results?

Usually about two days once the lab gets your sample. We'll shoot you an email when everything is ready, and you can check your results through your account online.

How long does the membership last?

One year from the date of sign up. You will get a total of three tests. The first and last test will be the same – to benchmark where you’re starting and then to show you how things are changing. You’ll get a test in the middle (around four months from your time of sign up) that will test for different things (hormones, metabolic markers, thyroid issues, insulin resistance, nutrient deficiencies, etc.).

What happens if I miss my follow-up test(s)?

Try to reschedule as soon as you can – the second test will go deeper into other areas of your health, and the third test is really important for tracking how you're doing. Email us info@NutriVuehealth.com if you need help figuring out the timing.

How do I get my follow up tests?

The second and third test will be automatically sent to you in the mail when you are due to take it.

What happens if I mess up my sample?

Don't worry, it happens. We'll let you know if something is off with your sample and send a new kit for doing it again. Getting a good sample is very important for accurate results, so we'd rather have you redo it than guess.

About the Device
What is the NutriVue blood collection device?

It’s a compact, single-use tool built for at-home blood collection. Once it’s placed on the upper arm, it draws a reliable sample with minimal discomfort. The device uses precision lancets, a self-contained vacuum system, and requires no special refrigeration — making shipping safe and simple.

How does it actually work?

The device uses a gentle, advanced hydrogel adhesive to comfortably attach to the skin and is easy to remove. When the red button is pressed, a mild vacuum lifts the skin away from sensitive nerves and activates a tiny needle that lightly pricks the surface. The vacuum then draws blood from the capillaries, completing the collection in about five minutes. Once finished, the user simply removes the blood tube and places it into the provided transport sleeve for convenient shipping to the lab.

Is this something anyone can use?

Yes, the NutriVue device is safe for at-home use. It has been carefully engineered with multiple safety features and has undergone extensive testing to ensure reliable and secure blood sample collection by individuals over 18.

Is the NutriVue blood draw device covered by insurance?

Currently the device is not covered by any insurance carriers and is available only as a self-pay option with the referral of a healthcare professional.

What does it test for?

The NutriVue blood draw device is compatible with a broad range of CLIA/CAP-accredited laboratory-developed tests. The NutriVue program offers a comprehensive metabolic panel designed to identify potential health concerns and includes targeted supplemental testing to support improvement and wellness strategies.

What do I do with the blood sample after collection?

After following the step-by-step collection instructions, the user removes the blood tube from the device and inserts it into the transport sleeve for easy shipping to the laboratory.

How long does it take to get my results?

After your sample has been mailed, results typically take 48-72 hours to arrive at lab and be processed.  You will be notified when they are ready.

Can I reuse the NutriVue device?

No, the NutriVue device is designed for single-use only to ensure safety and accuracy. Each blood draw requires a new device.

Where can I get a NutriVue blood draw device?

The NutriVue device kits can be obtained through NutriVue Health: www.NutriVuehealth.com

Safety & Security
Is NutriVue safe?

Yes, it's safe. We use the same labs your doctor would use - they're FDA-approved and everything. Plus we have to follow HIPAA rules, which keeps your info locked down and secure.

Do I need a doctor's prescription?

No prescription needed. Just sign up, and we'll send you the kit. If something funky shows up in your results though, you'll want to take them to your doctor. The reports download easily so you can just print them out.

How does NutriVue protect my personal data?

The same way hospitals do it - encryption and HIPAA compliance. There are pretty strict penalties for messing up people's health data, so we take it seriously. Nobody wants the government breathing down their neck.

Are there any age restrictions for using NutriVue?

It's for adults - 18 and up. Kids have different normal ranges for everything on blood tests, so you'd need to go through their pediatrician for testing anyway.

What happens if my test results indicate a potential health concern?

This is the big shift we’re making toward proactive health – greater insight and greater lead time. We're not going to drop some scary results on you and then ghost. You'll get an explanation of what the test results mean and what to do next. Nobody wants to ignore something that could get worse. And so, that’s why we help you spot areas of concern and recommend actions and next steps to address it. We are here to help you get ahead and see the big picture.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

When you sign up for a NutriVue membership, you’ll be asked about 10 standard questions in a short quiz. If you have dietary restrictions it’s no big deal. Can't eat meat? Allergic to shellfish? We work around it. If our usual recommendation doesn't fit your diet, we'll find something else that does the same job.

How accurate are the test results?

As accurate as the ones you'd get at your doctor's office - same labs, same equipment. And we simplify the findings so it’s easy for you to understand. If your results look weird to you, email us at info@NutriVuehealth.com, and we'll walk through what everything means.

Usage & Features
What's included in my NutriVue membership?

You get three blood draws spread out over the course of a year with roughly four months in between each one. The first one shows your current status, the second one happens four months later, and third is four months after that so you can see if anything has changed. Each test generates a report explaining what everything means, plus we tell you what foods to eat more of, which supplements might help, that sort of thing.

Can I share my results with my doctor?

Of course. Everything downloads as a PDF. Some doctors love getting this extra information, others don't care as much. Depends on your doctor really. But yeah, it's all yours to share however you want.

Can NutriVue help with specific conditions like diabetes or cholesterol?

You can purchase additional blood tests from our website that look for specific conditions such as these and many others. In the tests included with your membership, we do have test markers for these conditions. So if you're pre-diabetic or have cholesterol issues, your report addresses those specifically. The last test shows whether whatever you changed helped move the needle or not.

What is the process for ordering supplements?

We don't have that set up yet. Still working on it. Right now you'd have to take your recommendations and go buy the stuff yourself at CVS or wherever. We’ll notify you as soon as our supplements become available. The goal is to have specific packs custom to what your individual report shows.

How does the at-home blood test work?

The kit shows up in the mail with instructions. You put the device on your arm, collect some blood, stick it back in the envelope and send it off. It takes longer to read the directions than to actually do it. The results come back online in about 48 hours.

What happens if I am not satisfied with my results or experience?

Email us, and we'll sort it out. Maybe the sample got messed up, maybe you expected something different, whatever the case may be -- we're not trying to rip anyone off, so we'll work with you to fix whatever went wrong and make it right.

How do I update my personal information?

There is a settings page in your account where you can change your info. Pretty standard stuff - address, phone, email, whether you're vegetarian or allergic to something, etc.

What are the most common health insights people gain from NutriVue?

A: Some insights are as follows:

Liver health

  • Elevated AST/ALT → may suggest liver inflammation, injury, fatty liver, or effects from alcohol/medication.
  • High alkaline phosphatase (ALP) → can point to bile duct issues, liver disease, or sometimes bone disorders.
  • Low albumin or abnormal bilirubin → could indicate chronic liver disease or nutritional problems.

Kidney function

  • High creatinine or BUN (blood urea nitrogen) → can suggest reduced kidney filtration (dehydration, chronic kidney disease).
  • Low values sometimes appear with poor protein intake or overhydration.

Blood sugar status

  • High glucose → early sign of prediabetes, diabetes, or short-term stress response.
  • Low glucose → could be tied to fasting, medication, or metabolic issues.

Electrolyte & hydration balance

  • Sodium, potassium, chloride, CO₂ (bicarbonate) give insight into hydration, acid–base balance, and how well the body is regulating minerals.
  • Abnormal potassium can be related to heart rhythm risk, medication side effects, or kidney issues.

Nutritional & protein status

  • Total protein & albumin → can indicate overall nutrition, chronic inflammation, or digestive absorption problems.
  • Low values might suggest malnutrition, malabsorption, or certain chronic illnesses.
Pricing & Payment
What is the cost of NutriVue?

$49 a month for a membership. We keep it reasonable. You can pay with a credit card, set up payroll deduction if your company allows it, or use FSA/HSA funds. We know healthcare costs add up, so we offer several ways to pay.

How do I pay for NutriVue?

Most people just use a credit or debit card. Some folks have it deducted from their paychecks, which is convenient. If you've got an FSA or HSA account, those work too and save you some tax money.

What if I miss my follow-up tests?

Reschedule as soon as possible. That last test really matters because it shows whether your changes are working. Email us if you need help with scheduling - we don't want you to lose track of your progress.

Are the tests covered by insurance?

Insurance won't pay for it, unfortunately. However, you can use FSA or HSA money, which helps since those are pre-tax dollars. Better than nothing.

Can I take more than one test per year?

Yeah. We realize you may want more comprehensive testing. And so we’re setting it our so that you can order additional tests whenever you want through your account. Keep checking the “Shop” page as new options become available. Some people get impatient waiting four months and want to check their numbers sooner. Costs extra but it's your choice.

Additional Information
Why didn't this exist before?

Technology wasn't good enough and functional medicine was expensive. Most doctors still don't do this kind of comprehensive testing because insurance doesn't pay for it. We had to wait for at-home testing to get reliable and figure out how to make it affordable without insurance coverage.

What if I have questions about my health results?

Email our support team - they know this stuff inside and out. You can also take your results to your regular doctor if you want a second opinion or need more explanation about something specific.

Can NutriVue help with weight management?

Yeah, we test hormones and metabolic markers that affect weight. Thyroid issues, insulin resistance, nutrient deficiencies - all that stuff impacts whether you gain or lose weight. Your recommendations will address whatever is going on with your metabolism.

What happens if I provide an incomplete or inaccurate sample?

We'll let you know and send a new kit for collecting a new sample. Sometimes people don't get enough blood, or it gets contaminated somehow. No big deal, just redo it and send another one.

What happens if I am not satisfied with my results or experience?

Email our support team and tell us what went wrong. Maybe the results didn't make sense, maybe you expected something different. We'll work through whatever the issue is until you're happy with the service.
